Skate It - Nintendo DS
usually skateboarding games on a handheld console just requires u to pull a string of button presses together to do them tricks. well skate it makes full use of the ds' touch screen and stylus so that instead of button presses u need to swipe ur stylus to do a certain trick.
it kinda needs some getting used to at first. but u'd be grinding and flipping in no time.
the gameplay is straight forward enough. u start off skating at ur local park and then gradually build your skills unlocking real life skaters that u can use in the free skating mode.
you can also build your own skate park with items that u can unlock from playing the career mode.
i've yet to finish the game. been finding it difficult to get pass some of the challenges. its a fun game nevertheless.
overall i give it an 8/10

Nintendo DS Lite
the first thing that i thought when i held the console in my hands was how sleek and sexy it was. any sort of oogling of how the dslite look like would be a few year's too late. since the upgrade to the nintendo ds came out in 2006.
i guess i'll be writing more about the games as i play it.

Funky Doryz
i have never heard of these guys before. well i'm sure there are a lot of other unsigned local acts that i haven't heard before. but i must say i am impressed with their sound and commitment to release their ep. the self titled release has 5 catchy beats that one can definitely jive to.
my personal favorite is soul free. hehe.
apparently they have performed on a few occasions with my sister ana. and apparently ana already got their cd. hehe dang. shud have just copied from her aje. but then again, lets support our local music scene eh. hehe.
you can find out more about these guys here

Mothership - Led Zeppelin..
Led Zeppelin in my book is just classic. Their sounds transcend the generation gap in which a new listener listening today will still find the music relevant and enticing. i recently purchased the compilation album - Mothership. these guys rock. listening to these guys play one can't help but wonder the many other acts that they have inspired. best gila.

300
i must say that the movie has all the ingredients that appeals most guys la i guess. loads of violence, loads of blood, adequate measure of sex, and did i mention loads of violence?
the story revolves around the proud spartan nation fight against the persians in the Battle of Thermopylae. their king leonidas unbowing nature led him to bring 300 brave spartans to defend against an oncoming horde of thousands (might be more) of invading persians. inspired by the graphic novel by frank miller the story is fast paced and there was nary a moment where i felt bored. i was annoyed however by the couple sitting next to me though. the guy can't stop from having color commentaries on the action on screen. "nak bercakap balik rumah tengok dvd aa"
watching the sequence of events unfolding, u can't help but feel for the spartans. their attempts at overcoming insurmountable odds seemed doomed from the start but they did gave their all. gerard butler's leonidas was defiant till the end. other supporting casts also brought character and flavour to the movie.
overall.. i give it a 9/10. hehe but that's because i love these kind of movies. hehe. go watch it before the censors snip more scenes from it.
